General information
- Geographic location: The province is bounded by QuảngNgãi to the east, Quảng Nam to the north, Gia Lai to the south, Laos and Cambodia to the west.
- Area: 9,690.5 km2
- Topographic features: Kon Tum has various types of terrain include mountain, highland and valley. In general, the terrain slightly slopes from the north to the south and from the east to the west.
- Administrative units: Include the city of Kon Tum and 8 districts: ĐắkGlei, ĐắkHà, ĐắkTô, KonPlông, KonRẫy, NgọcHồi, Sa Thầy, Tu Mơ Rông.
- Population: 432,865 people
Resources
- Natural resources: There is 10,558 km2 natural area with quite fertile soil suitable for cultivation of industrial crops. In addition, there are 614,000 hectares of forest land including 611,300 hectares  of natural forests with a wood reserve of 60.1 million m3. The province has various mineral resources such as bauxite, gold, kaolin, etc.
- Tourism resources: There are interesting tourist points such as Kon Tum prison, ChanhHoawooden church, E42 ĐắkTô, TânCảnh army station, PleiVẽnh, Hờ village; Ya Ly tourist area; and MăngĐen resort, etc.

- Human resources:
In 2010, the number of people in working age working in Kon Tum economy was about 234,114, in which 162,470 workers working in agriculture – forestry – aquaculture.

Infrastructures
- Transportation system: The transportation system is not sufficientbut has great potentiality. Kon Tum is located in the border conjunction with 117 km of national highway No. 14, 99 km of national highway No.24, 20 km of national highway No.40 and a border gate to the southern area of Laos.
- Power supply system: The inner provincial grid was improved to provideservices to the whole province. Optical fiber transmission network has spread to 8 / 9 districts and towns
- Post and telecommunication system: There is a standard communication system. 8/9 towns and districts have optical cable connected and can provide high quality communication services. The province has 16 switchboards. Two of them are HOST and 14 are RSS satellite; besides, there are several subscriber hubs installed in economic, residential areas.
- Industrial zones: Kon Tum has industrial zones of HoàBình (100ha), Sao Mai (80ha), ĐắkTô, Đăk La.
Economic status
 - Growth rate: in the period of 2006-2010, the growth rate of GDP was 16%.

Investment attraction status
From 2006 to July of 2011, there has been more than 170 investors, enterprises gathered investment information of Kon Tum and invested in some of fields such as Agriculture, Hydro power, tourism and minerals mines. Up to 6/2011, 192 projects was approved with the total capacity of 26,351 billion VND, in which 30 projects invested in agriculture with registered capital of 3,149 billion VND, 118 projects in industry and construction with registered capacity of 20,912 billion VND, 44 projects in commercial and services with registered capacity of 2,289 billion VND.
